International Women’s Day 2023

Wednesday 8 March is International Women's Day! A day dedicated to women's sense of solidarity around the world. At the same time, 8 March celebrates womanhood and highlights women's social, economic, cultural and political achievements. There will be celebratory events, as well as demonstrations, by women and anyone who identifies with womanhood. On the occasion of International Women's Day, in and around UM the following activities will be organised: International Women's Day originated in 1908 in New York, where women went on strike and called attention to their rights, including suffrage, and better working conditions. Issues that now, 115 years later, are still not a given for many women. This will be given extensive attention on 8 March. March -  Women in Data Science (WiDS) Maastricht Conference.
