FNS-REPRO event: Building food system resilience in protracted crises

This week, 19 to 23 September, Wageningen University & Research and The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are organising their first FNS-REPRO event in Wageningen, the Netherlands. The Food and Nutrition Security Resilience Programme (FNS-REPRO) is implemented by FAO and Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI) as its knowledge and learning partner. FNS-REPRO aims to build resilient food systems to address rising food insecurity in contexts of protracted crises in Sudan, South Sudan and Somaliland. The event will further explore insights, best practices and lessons learned informed by the experiences of FNS-REPRO, and will contribute to the emerging agenda for building resilient food systems in contexts of protracted crises. By engaging programme stakeholders from across the Horn of Africa region, representing local universities, UN agencies, NGOs, government representatives and private sector as well as Netherlands-based partners, comprising of academia, NGOs and knowledge institutes, lessons can be learned that inform the programme as well as future programming to address rising food insecurity in protracted crises contexts. Furthermore, partnerships can be established that can contribute to building resilient food systems in The Horn of Africa. The event is co-organised by WCDI and FAO, with contribution of the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) and a wide range of FNS-REPRO partners.
