Olya Kudina appointed as board member of The Young Academy

Olya Kudina has been appointed as a general board member at The Young Academy. In April 2026, she will start her two-year board term together with two other newly appointed members.

At The Young Academy, Olya Kudina works on the project The AI Challenge, which aims to raise awareness within the academic community about the responsible use of AI. Within The Young Academy, Kudina hopes to contribute to inclusion and diversity, both within the Dutch academic world and in society at large: "In my role in the Board of the Young Academy, I will continue emphasizing diversity and inclusion. Be it for cultural or disciplinary representation in academia, grant proposal schemes, promotion criteria, or agenda setting, diversity and inclusion continue to be a cross-cutting issue and an aspirational goal with much work ahead. It is a privilege to contribute to this and to any other puzzles The Young Academy may face as part of the board."

At TU Delft, Olya Kudina investigates how people-s moral ideas and decisions, what guides our behaviour, are influenced by technologies and the natural environment. She focuses on the dynamic relationship between technologies and human values, specifically how artificial intelligence affects and can strengthen democracy. Kudina-s research spans philosophy, design, and computer science, combining both theoretical and empirical work.
