In June 2025, just before the summer, we were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Professor Emeritus Sevil Sariyildiz - a pioneering academic and passionate advocate for gender equality, diversity, and the advancement of women in science. As one of the founders of DEWIS, Sevil was a driving force for change, tirelessly working to create an academic environment where all voices could be heard and valued. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
