The Executive Board has appointed Diana van der Sloot as the new Managing Director of EIRES, effective 1 November. She replaces Mark Boneschanscher, who has become dean of the department of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry (CE&C).
In her previous role Van der Sloot was Senior Program Manager at EIRES. Ever since her student days, the new Managing Director of EIRES has been passionate about sustainability. She completed a master in Building Technology here at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2009. Since her graduation, she has held a variety of jobs, all’in the field of consultancy on cradle to cradle and sustainability.

Next phase
With her extensive experience in research management and material transition, she is well positioned to lead EIRES in its next phase of growth and development. In this new role, she will oversee the strategic direction of the institute, foster collaboration across departments and partners, and further strengthen the impact of EIRES in sustainable energy research and innovation.
Fifth anniversary
EIRES, TU/e’s institute for sustainable energy, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The institute brings together researchers and experts from different disciplinary faculties to accelerate the energy transition and make a societal impact.
