Herish Salim wins Unilever Research Prize

Herish Salim with the cheque and artwork bowl - Recently graduated UvA student Herish Salim has won the Unilever Research Prize 2021 for his master project work on the unexpected dynamics of salt crystalization. Salim did his award-winning work in the Soft Matter Group of the UvA Institute of Physics, under the supervision of Noushine Shahidzadeh. He received the prize during an online ceremony on November 25th. The prize consisted of a cheque of €2500 and a special artwork bowl, which symbolises the collaboration that is needed between industry and science to face global challenges together, The ceremony marked the 65th year of the annual Unilever Research Prizes. A total of 13 Master of Science students received the prize, one for each university in the Netherlands.
