- EN - NL
The Paralympic Games have officially ended, and TeamNL achieved historically great results during this edition. VU Amsterdam’s students also won a gold medal (in women's wheelchair basketball) and a silver medal (in mixed para swimming).

A quick roundup of the results by our VU Amsterdam students and alumni:
  • The Dutch mixed Boccia team, coached by VU student Anisha Tersteeg, reached the quarter-finals, but was defeated there by France (3-8) and Indonesia (3-9).
  • Wheelchair basketball player and VU Amsterdam student Julia van der Sprong and her team claimed gold yesterday after an exciting final against the United States, winning with a score of 63-49.
  • Para swimmer and VU Amsterdam alumnus Olivier van den Voort won the silver medal in the mixed relay (4x100 metres medley).
  • Wheelchair basketball player and VU Amsterdam student Mendel op de Orth and his team finished in sixth place after their match against Australia, which they unfortunately lost 75-82.
