TU Delft celebrates lecturers who advocate for openness in education, sharing knowledge and resources with the world and creating a more inclusive and collaborative academic community.

On Monday, 3 March, we held our 4th annual Open Education Ambassador Awards to recognise the lecturers who during the year distinguished themselves in open practices, such as creating open educational resources (OER) - interactive textbooks, online courses, collaborative tools and platforms - and for being active advocates internally and externally.
Nominated by faculty, they exemplify how openness in education can drive meaningful societal change. Their work contributes to a future in which learning is not confined to classrooms but a dynamic, ongoing process accessible to all. By celebrating these educators, we recognise their pivotal role in making this vision a reality and encourage others to follow their lead.
The awards were presented by Willem van Valkenburg, Executive Director of TU Delft Extension School for Continuing Education.

Shaping the Future of Lifelong Learning
By making their teaching materials openly available, these lecturers do more than just expand access to knowledge, they also inspire a culture of lifelong learning. Their efforts not only benefit lifelong learners worldwide but also shape how TU Delft students engage with learning beyond their degrees. By experiencing open education firsthand, students are encouraged to see learning as continual and universal which continues throughout their professional and personal lives.
