As of September 1, Jos Keurentjes is the new dean of the Department of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry. Keurentjes was previously the director of the Centre for Energy Innovation at the University of Twente. Earlier in his career, he worked ten years as a professor at TU/e.
TNO from 2014 to 2020, before which he was Corporate Director Technology at AkzoNobel. He studied and received his PhD at Wageningen University.
Rector Silvia Lenaerts: "As the Executive Board, we are exceptionally pleased to have found someone of this caliber to lead the department with a strong sense of empathy. He will provide direction to the necessary further development of the department. We are confident that this assignment is in good hands with Jos. He has our full support and we wish him every success in charting a future-proof course."

As dean, Keurentjes succeeds Kitty Nijmeijer, who will return to professorship full time.
