As one of the stops along the High Tech Ontdekkingsroute (High Tech Discovery Trail), we’re teaming up with our Brainport partners to showcase the latest technological innovations and, more importantly, to empower the general public to discover what they can do with it.
On June 14, from 11:00 to 15:00, the Atlas building will be transformed into a dynamic, hands-on laboratory. Visitors of all’ages will have the opportunity to actively explore science and technology. They can walk through a 3D model of a human heart, produce their own shampoo, pose for a photo with a healthcare robot, or design a video game. Just a few examples of the activities available.
Other participating locations along the High Tech Discovery Trail include the Brainport Industries Campus, ASML, and the Philips Museum.
Why does TU/e participate?
TU/e is committed to encouraging more young people to choose a technical educational profile and pursue a technical degree. We think one of the most effective ways to support that ambition is by offering opportunities to experience up close what technology does, what it solves and makes possible. These experiences are not only intended for (high school) students, but also for their parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, friends, and younger siblings. Everyone is welcome. As part of a region where education, research, and industry work closely together, TU/e plays an active role in strengthening the technological talent pipeline. That’s why we like to show how versatile and inspiring technology is. Because not every young person will become an engineer, but almost everyone will work in or alongside technology, regardless of their profession. The long-term goal is to increase the share of students choosing a technical profile from one in five to two in five. That shift begins with curiosity, and a day like this can be the catalyst.
